How do I log off of a remote computer session (Thin Client)?
It is always advisable to sign out of a remote computer session. How a user exits the remote desktop sessions matters. The two available options are either “Sign Out/Log Off” or “Disconnect.
Disconnecting leaves the session running on the remote computer or server. The session continues to take up resources and can slow down functions for other users. Disconnecting profiles can corrupt the session connection and users may have to call support to terminate the session manually in order to get properly reconnected.
To log off of a remote computer session (Thin Client), ensure that all programs are closed. Next, go to the lower left corner of the screen and click on the Windows icon. Click on the user icon to find sign out. This will completely log a user out of the session rather than simply disconnecting. Users should log out regularly. A good practice is to log off at the end of each day, but it may be more realistic to suggest logging off at the end of each work week.
