What if my monitor or TV goes black, during the day?

Occasionally, a Chromebox monitor or the television it is connected with will go black if the screen resolution is not set correctly. Follow these instructions:

  • Check the settings for the TV by clicking on the clock in the lower right corner.
  • Then at the left, click on “Device” and click on “Displays”. 
  • If it shows the displays as overlapping, then click on the checkbox to un-mirror the displays.
  • The monitor and TV displays will appear side by side on the screen. 
  • Select the TV display and set the “Resolution” to 1920 x 1080.
  • Set the “Refresh Rate” to 50 Hz
  • Check that the monitor’s resolution is also: 1920 x 1080.
  • The monitor’s “Refresh Rate” can be: 60Hz.
  • If the two device’s were previously mirrored you can click the checkbox to mirror them again.
